- AAPM TG18
- Stands for American Association of Physicists in Medicine Task Group 18. It establishes guidelines on evaluation of electronic display devices.

- Active matrix
- An LCD structure in which each pixel is independently controlled

- Light source installed behind the LCD panel module. Typically cold cathode fluorescent lamps are used.

- Stands for Just Noticeable Difference. The smallest recognizable difference by human eyes.

- Stands for Look-up Table. It performs gamma correction and converts the grayscale data input from a graphics card into luminance value.
