4 New Medical Imaging LCDs
with Higher Image Quality & Simpler Maintenance

Tokyo, Japan, April 4, 2005 - TOTOKU Electric Co., Ltd. introduces four new color and monochrome medical imaging LCD displays one after another starting April. With our new technology, these displays can maintain enhanced display accuracy for long periods of time with ease.

CCL350i ME351i

Overview

Due to the rapid progress of technology, high-definition LCDs are fast replacing traditional film for medical imaging. An ever-increasing attention is being paid to the importance of maintaining display accuracy on medical imaging displays. As a result, more facilities and organizations are now performing the acceptance test upon installation, and the periodical constancy test to monitor display status. Needless to mention that medical displays are expected to offer high display accuracies that can be maintained over the long term.

With our newly developed luminance stabilizing system λ-Sentinel II built-in and in combination with the optional display performance monitoring software PM Medivisor, the new models provide enhanced display accuracy and the ability to maintain it over a long period. Contrary to our older models, the operating procedures are simplified for the new models to meet the demand of the market.

TOTOKU will expand the lineups for the ME Series i model and the CCL Series i model that come standard with enhanced, easy-to-use features.

July 2005 CCL250i 2MP 21.3″ Color LCD

Features

Built-in Luminance Stabilizing System λ-Sentinel II

λ-Sentinel II consists of a luminance sensor and a luminance control circuit. The luminance sensor is placed in front of the panel surface and stabilizes luminance by continuous monitoring, and sending feedback to the control circuit. Installing the on-screen luminance sensor enables intermediate luminance to be measured for DICOM GSDF conformity evaluation. It also means that the display alone is capable of measuring and showing the current luminance on the OSD screen.

Display Performance Monitoring Software PM Medivisor (Optional)

PM Medivisor analyzes the luminance data measured by the luminance sensor according to AAPM TG18 to monitor and maintain display accuracy. It also manages calibration scheduling and history for each display on the network, including detailed display information.

Calibration Software Medivisor Grayscale and Medivisor Color

The optional calibration software can accurately adjust luminance, gamma, and chromaticity (color models only) on the supported TOTOKU displays with ease.

LCD Panel with World's Highest Class Luminance, Contrast, and Broadness of Viewing Angle

TOTOKU's advanced technology realizes clear display of images with high contrast.
Maximum Luminance for respective models are:
ME251i: 1500 cd/m², ME351i: 700 cd/m², CCL250i: 450 cd/m², CCL350i: 400 cd/m²

Multi-Gradation Display

With the use of a viewer, ME351i is capable of displaying 2048 simultaneous shades of gray; smoother and subtler expressions of grayscale are possible. (ME251i simultaneous displays 1024 shades of gray.)

Designated High-Speed Graphics Cards (Optional)

Our designated PCI Express bus graphics cards LV22E1 (max. resolution: 2MP), LV32E1 and LV32E2 (max. resolution: 3MP) enable smooth transfer of images whose sizes are expected to grow even bigger in the future.
