Information on the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)

When disposing of the TOTOKU displays within EU countries

(a) Separate collection of WEEE:

WEEE cannot be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste. WEEE must be collected separately from general waste.

(b) Return & collection system:

TOTOKU has developed a collection and recycling system and it is available for all customers disposing of TOTOKU products.

(c) Customer role in contributing to reuse, recycling, and other forms of recovery of WEEE:

It is important to conserve natural resources by minimizing waste and encouraging recovery of waste. Customers are encouraged to participate in separate collection of WEEE to promote reuse, recycling, composting, and energy recovery. It ultimately contributes greatly to waste reduction of natural resources and protection against environmental pollution.

(d) Potential effects on the environment and human health as a result of the presence of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment:

Electrical and electronic equipment contains hazardous substances. If not disposed of properly, WEEE can cause negative effects on the environment and human health. TOTOKU is determined to make efforts to preserve, protect, and improve the quality of the environment, protect human health, and utilize natural resources prudently and rationally.

(e) WEEE marking:

The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol shown below indicates that an electrical and electronic appliance is put on the EU market after August 13, 2005, and producers of the Member States are required to mark their electrical and electronic equipment with this symbol under Article 11.2 of Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE).
